DAILY MAINTENANCE
WATER AND HUMIDITY
A watch is not water resistant unless otherwise indicated on the dial or case back. Furthermore, the water resistance of a watch cannot be permanently guaranteed. It can be affected by the aging of the seals or by an accidental impact on one of the components ensuring water resistance such as the crown, the pushers and the crystal.
Before using your watch in water, always ensure that the crown is firmly closed and do not press the pushers underwater. Screw down the crown carefully to prevent moisture from entering the movement.
Have the tightness of your Tellus checked regularly by our Maintenance Services.
DAILY MAINTENANCE
MAGNETISM
Magnetic fields, ubiquitous in modern technology, can alter the accuracy and reliability of your watch by speeding up or slowing down the movement. In reality, electromagnetic fields risk affecting an essential part of your watch: the hairspring, which is a small spring used to maintain the regularity and frequency of oscillation.
Avoid placing your watch near electronic devices such as magnets, speakers, mobile phones, televisions, tablets, computers, microwaves, induction hobs, etc.
If you notice that your Tellus is magnetized, we recommend that you contact our Maitenance Services.
DAILY MAINTENANCE
CLEANNING
When cleaning your watch, avoid using chemicals such as soap, detergents, cosmetics and perfumes as they could, over time, damage the case or the strap of your watch, especially leather straps. .
Instead, use a microfiber cloth or soft-bristled toothbrush in lukewarm water and gently brush the top of the watch face and metal bracelet. Avoid using soap as it can leave particles in small spaces.
If necessary, regularly check that the stones set in your timepiece are perfectly in place. Use a soft cloth to wipe down your watch.
DAILY MAINTENANCE
WINDING
Most of automatic Tellus watches provide enough power for 40-50 hours (up to 120 hours for our Dueller model) without being worn.
If the watch has stopped, manually wind the watch by turning the crown 20 times clockwise.
Once on your wrist, your movements will ensure the operation of the automatic movement.
For those who have several watches and like to alternate them on their wrist, know that it is not necessary for a watch to work all the time. A mechanical or automatic watch needs to turn from time to time. It will therefore suffice to wind your Tellus once a month, or even every two months.
DAILY MAINTENANCE
SEA, POOL AND SPORT
Stainless steel is an alloy resulting from the mixture of several metals. As a result, the stainless steel of your watches is never completely stainless and may, over time, see its resistance to corrosion diminished.
We therefore recommend that you rinse your watch with tap water after contact with sea water or swimming pool chlorine, in order to prevent salt or other residues from affecting your watch or its mechanism.
Avoid wearing your watch during intense or violent sporting activities in terms of shocks to the body or the wrist, such as tennis, squash, mountain biking, etc.
DAILY MAINTENANCE
LEATHER AND METAL STRAPS
Leather is a living and permeable material that should not be brought into contact with greasy substances and cosmetic and/or chemical products such as perfumes or moisturizing creams. Your leather strap should be
maintained regularly with special leather care in order to maintain its
suppleness and shine for as long as possible.
Do not swim with a leather strap, and in general avoid contact with water and humidity to prevent discoloration or deformation. Also avoid Exposing the bracelet to sunlight for an extended period of time in order to maintain the brilliance of its color.
Metal straps are sturdier and only require light maintenance about every six months. We therefore recommend that you simply brush the bracelet using a soft brush that you dip in water. You will then polish the bracelet of your Tellus with a soft microfiber cloth to restore all its luster and shine.
DAILY MAINTENANCE
EXTREME TEMPERATURES
Extreme temperatures can damage the internal mechanisms or external parts of a watch and thus have negative effects on its performance, without you necessarily realizing it.
Extreme heat can thus affect the hands of your watch by deforming them even very slightly and extreme cold can alter the seals. Worse still are extreme temperature variations. These can, among other things, affect the viscosity of the interior oils and impair the proper functioning of your watch.
Avoid subjecting your watch to extreme temperatures.
